Journal English in Education

Aim & Scope

English in Education, the academic journal of the UK National Association for the Teaching of English (NATE), reports on research related to all aspects of English teaching from early years to university and later life. NATE is an active member of the International Federation for the Teaching of English (IFTE) and its journal seeks to share the knowledge and expertise of English teachers throughout the world. To this end, it provides an international forum for the work of teachers, researchers, writers and other practitioners who are engaged in investigating practice and policy in curriculum and assessment. In particular, the journal promotes dynamic and creative approaches to teaching and regularly publishes poems by teachers of English. The journal publishes research-based articles and short creative pieces that provide informed reflection on the teaching of English within the school, college and higher education curriculum. We particularly welcome papers that report on appropriate pedagogical approaches to all aspects of language and literature, including drama and digital and media literacy. Articles on teaching multilingual students are welcome but the journal is not specifically focused on the teaching of English as a second language. The work of the journal is overseen by the international Academic Review Board, which ensures fair reviewing of all submissions through anonymous peer review. Guest editors are engaged for special issues to focus on a particular theme or contemporary policy question. [1]
