Personal Relationships, first published in 1994, is an international, interdisciplinary journal that promotes scholarship in the field of personal relationships throughout a broad range of disciplines, including psychology, sociology, communication studies, anthropology, family studieschild development, and gerontology. The subject matter of Personal Relationships includes original theory and research on relationships throughout the life-span. Relationships among parents and children, spouses, intimate partners, friends, kin relations, coworkers and other forms of personal associates are appropriate for the journal. Theoretical or methodological contributions, integrative reviews, and original empirical or qualitative research are welcome. Typically published work focuses on attributes of individual partners in personal relationships (e.g., personality factors as they influence relationship outcomes), the internal character of relationships (e.g., communication, love, conflict, attachment, sexuality), or relationships in social contexts (e.g., families or workplaces).
