Aim & Scope
Physics of Fluids (PoF) is a preeminent journal devoted to publishing original theoretical, computational, and experimental contributions to the understanding of the dynamics of gases, liquids, and complex or multiphase fluids. Both curiosity-driven and applied advances are received with enthusiasm. Physics of Fluids publishes elegant work, often with stunning imagery, including videography. Topics published in PoF are diverse and reflect the most important subjects in fluid dynamics, including, but not limited to: Acoustics; Aerospace and aeronautical flow; Astrophysical flow; Biofluid mechanics; Biomedical flows; Boiling, condensation and evaporation; Cavitation and cavitating flows; Chaotic flows; Combustion flows; Complex fluids; Compressible flow; Computational fluid dynamics; Contact lines; Continuum mechanics; Convection; Convective heat transfer; Cryogenic flow; Drag reduction; Droplets; Electrical and magnetic effects in fluid flow; Film flows; Flow control; Flow in porous media; Flow instability and transition; Flow orientation and anisotropy; Flows with other transport phenomena; Flows with complex boundary conditions; Flow visualization; Fluid mechanics; Fluid physical properties; Fluid–structure interactions; Foam, bubble, and film mechanics; Free surface flows; Geophysical flow; Imbibition; Interfacial flow; Knudsen flow; Jet flows; Laminar flow; Liquid crystals; Lubrication and tribology; Machine learning; Mathematics of fluids; Micro- and nanofluid mechanics; Mixing; Molecular liquids; Molecular theory; Multiphase flow; Musical instruments; Nanofluidics; Particulate and granular flow; Physical geometry and flow; Processing flows; Relativistic fluid mechanics; Rotating flows; Sedimentation; Shock wave phenomena; Soft matter; Speech and hearing; Statistical mechanics of flow; Statistics of flow; Stratified flows; Supercritical fluids; Superfluidity; Suspensions; Swimming; Thermodynamics of flow systems; Transonic flow; Turbulent flow; Viscous and non-Newtonian flow; Viscoelasticity; Vortex dynamics; Waves.
