Aim & Scope
Revista Médica of the Mexican Institute of Social Security ( Medical Magazine of the IMSS ) is a bimonthly publication of the Directorate of Medical Benefits of the Mexican Institute of Social Security, first published in 1962. It constitutes the dissemination body of clinical and epidemiological research which is carried out in the most important social security institution in Mexico. Revista Médica del IMSS's mission is to disseminate, in national and international spheres, the results of the clinical research carried out in the Institute and in other health institutions. A parallel objective is to establish itself as a useful instrument in the training and education of health professionals. The aspiration of the IMSS Medical Journal is to become the scientific publication of topics of general dissemination with greater scope in Mexico, both for its impact on the specific editorial field and for its influence on the practice of professionals dedicated to providing health services, mainly in the first and second level of attention. In the medium term, a strategy will be its inclusion in the Web of Science of the Thomson Reuters agency , considered the most influential information platform in the world. [1]
